Our On-Site Programs
All education programs are filled with hands-on activities to engage your students!
Activities with animals, wagons, and a stagecoach ride make visiting Mahaffie fun for children and a valuable tool for educators!

Days
School Programs are offered Tuesdays-Fridays
Hours
- Programs are approximately two hours.
- Program time varies with number of classes or groups.
- School programs are offered in morning and afternoon sessions.
- Many school choose two programs to create a day-long field trip.
- The times are flexible to accommodate bus schedules.
Student Costs
- Half-day program: minimum 20 students for $6/student
- Full day program: minimum 20 students for $10/student
- $1 reduced admission for Title I schools for the half-day program.
Adults Costs
- Teachers, paraprofessionals, and aides admitted free.
- One adult must accompany the student stagecoach rides.
Souvenir Bags
- $1/souvenir bag. Please let staff know at least two weeks prior before your program if you are purchasing souvenir bags.
Lunches
- Please let staff know when reserving your program if your group is planning to bring lunch.
- Your group is welcome to eat before or after the program in the Mahaffie picnic shelter.
Weather Conditions
- On-site program activities take place outdoors, rain or shine.
- Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and ground conditions, in clothes and shoes that can get soiled.
- We will make all efforts to place stations under cover.
- Transition between stations will still be in the weather elements.
- Mahaffie will discontinue stagecoach rides if lightning is present.
Cancellations
- Cancellations due to weather issues will be the decision of the client.
- Mondays are reserved for make-up days in the event of weather issues.
- Reschedule dates or refunds will be available for cancellations due to weather issues.
- Non weather-related cancellations made within one week of the program date will not receive a refund.
Reschedules
- Reschedules should be made at least three days prior to the program date.
