- Civil War-Grades 5-8
- Learn what an infantry solder carried during the war and about his daily life as you march in President Lincoln's army.
- Fancy Farming-Grades 6-12
- Looking for a new way to teach changes in farming during 19th century? This program combines hands-on experiences, primary sources, and videos to illustrate the profound effects of these developments had on daily life. Led by Mahaffie staff in 1860s clothing, your students will have a whole new appreciation for farming technology!
- Home on the Range-Grades 3-8
- Students explore the lives of drovers (cowboys) who traversed the frontier with herds of Texas cattle. They will learn how this all-American job originated in Mexico and the Southwest as they handle cowboy gear and try their hand at roping.
- Meet the Mahaffies-Grades K-8
- Tour the Mahaffies' home. During our discussion we will compare life of long-ago to today.
- Wagons Ho!-Grades 3-8
- Thousands of people passed the Mahaffie home on their journey to Santa Fe, Oregon, and California. Students discover why and how Americans headed west with a station dedicated to each trail.
